**Masterdoctor Wellness Group of Clinics and BeatO celebrate World Diabetes Day 2023 with free screening camps across Odisha**


Bhubaneswar, November 14, 2023: On the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2023, Masterdoctor Wellness Group of Clinics, the best and largest chain of Diabetes Multispeciality clinics in Odisha, in association with BeatO, a national level health care organization, organized free diabetes screening camps at multiple centers across Bhubaneswar and Odisha. The camps were coordinated by Dr Jagadish Foundation and presided over by Dr B Jagadish, who is the Director and Chief Consultant of Masterdoctor Wellness.

More than thousands of patients were screened for Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure, Weight, BMI, and other parameters related to diabetes and its complications. The camps also provided free consultation and counselling to the patients by the expert team of doctors, dietitians, and educators from Masterdoctor Wellness and BeatO.

Dr B Jagadish, who has more than 15 years of experience in treating diabetes and its complications, said that diabetes is not a disease of blood sugar, but a disease of blood vessels and blood circulation. He emphasized the need to follow a four-pillar management system to tackle the menace of diabetes:

1. Following a regular healthy diet that is low in sugar, salt, and fat, and high in fiber, protein, and antioxidants.
2. Doing regular upper body or whole body aerobic exercise, including yoga asanas like Suryanamaskar, to improve blood circulation, reduce stress, and burn calories.
3. Taking medications as advised by the doctor, and adhering to the prescribed dosage and timing.
4. Regular testing and follow-up consultation with the healthcare provider, to monitor the blood sugar levels and adjust the treatment accordingly.

He said that he has been inculcating this system into his practice for the last more than 15 years and successfully treated more than 25000 patients. He also stressed the importance of prevention and early detection of diabetes, as it can prevent or delay the onset of serious complications such as heart disease, kidney failure, blindness, and amputation.

The camps were conducted successfully and the noble work was praised by many. The patients expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Masterdoctor Wellness, BeatO, and Dr Jagadish Foundation for organizing such a beneficial initiative. The organizers said that they hope to conduct such camps in the future and spread awareness about diabetes and its management among the people of Odisha.
